Mrs. Kuchnicki's Kindergarten

Hello Wonderful Kindergarten Families!

The field trip to the pumpkin patch at the Old Country Mill Friday was fun but very wet and cold. I send a very special thank you to all the parents who braved the rain and helped us to have a very special day. We collected pumpkins, apples, enjoyed a donut with apple cider, and sang some of our favorite songs on the bus.

I can't believe it is the last week of October. We have a very busy fun week ahead, so the month of October will go out with a bang! We have Harambee on Thursday so our school day schedule will be 11:00am - 6:00pm. The focus of this month's Harambee will be violence prevention. The students will eat lunch when they arrive and then have their Harambee dinner at 3:30 then we will have our assembly at 5:00-6:00. Students load the bus at 6:00 pm to come home.

Friday is Halloween and I have some important changes to mention. We will be having our Halloween parade at 1:30 in the afternoon. This will mean that we have less time for our party. I am still asking that parents come between 12:45 and 1:00 so that we can help all the children change into their costumes. After the parade we will have our party from 2:00-3:00 in the classroom. We need to have the room cleaned and the children ready to leave by 3:20. I look forward to seeing many of you at the party.

Friday is also the end of our first marking period and report cards will be sent home. I will be sending home the conferences I have scheduled so far today and will look forward to you signing up soon if you have not already. Our conferences will be next Thursday November 6th from 2:00-6:00. Students will be dismissed early that day.

Our field trip to the Wharton Center is next Monday. If you would like to come with us you are welcome to join us. We only have one parent so far who has signed up to go. It will be a really fun day. We will be eating lunch a little early at 10:45 then getting in our groups to load the bus by 11:45. The performance will be from 12:30-1:30 and then we will return to Shabazz to enjoy some of our favorite stories from the play and have our French class in the afternoon.

REMINDER: There is no school Tuesday November 4th for our professional development day. PLEASE VOTE!!!!

As always if you have any questions feel free to call me.
