Dear kindergarten families,
I want to thank those parents who came to conferences. I enjoyed discussing your child's progress with you. If you did not make it to conferences, please call me to set something up. As the end of the year approaches, it is important that we meet.
We went on our field trip to Mooville last Monday. The children had fun learning about farms, and seeing different animals. Unfortunately, only one of the six parents that signed up to attend came. Things worked out okay for that field trip. However, this is not the case for the next two trips. In order to go, I must have parent support. We cannot walk around the zoo or Michigan Adventure in a group of 25. As you know we are going to Binder Park Zoo on Friday May 14. The cost for parents is $7.00, and the school will pay for the students. Money for parents is due by Friday May 7. Again I have several parents signed up. Please make sure that you come if you signed up. If the money is the problem, then please let me know so that I can try to figure something out to help. Our final field trip will be to Michigan Adventure on Friday, June 11. This is the last day of school. I do not yet know the cost of this trip. I will send home information as soon as it is made available to me. Last year the cost for students was $7.00, and the cost for parents was $18.00. I do not know if it will be the same this year. I want the children to have fun and enjoy their last few weeks of kindergarten, but I need your help.
Homework this week will focus on the following skills
Words: Read, write, and spell: Where, up, down, you, here
Word Family: -ot: cot, pot, lot, hot, etc.
Math: Continue to practice money: Pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. Identify and count.
Reading: Please spend time each day reading to your child, and having your child read to you.
Class Work: Look over the work that is sent home on Monday. Have students complete and correct this work.
