November Newsletter
Kindergarten Stars
Mrs. Dornbush's Class
Dear parents,
Parents please remember that conferences are tomorrow. I look forward to meeting with all of you. The current conference schedule is on the back of this newsletter. I still have some openings available.
I want to thank those of you who helped with the Halloween Party. It was a lot of fun. We had many parents attend and bring treats. The students enjoyed their party very much. We were also fortunate enough to have some students from Olivet College help out with our party. They brought cookies to decorate, and took pictures of the kids.
Our field trip to the Wharton Center this week was very enjoyable for the students. However, I did not have any parent volunteers. Please be involved with our classroom activities whenever possible.
In math we are beginning unit 2. We will be learning about sets, data, and graphing in chapter 3. Chapter 4 will teach the numbers 0-5. You can help your child by making sets (sets of 1, sets of 2, etc.). Also, please begin working with your child on the numbers 0-5 if you haven't already.
In literacy we will begin Theme 2. Students will focus on the letters Ss, Mm, and Rr. We will learn to write and read the words I and See. This unit will take us about three weeks to complete. Students will also practice sequencing (ordering pictures from 1-3 from first to third).
Important Dates
- 11/6: 1/2 day for students, conferences 2-6
- 11/17-11/21: Book Fair
- 11/20: Harambee

Thanks for all of your support. Please continue to send in snacks. We are running out! If you have any questions or comments please feel free to call me at the school, or on my cell phone (517) 525-2520.
Thank you,
Hattie Dornbush
