Mr. Svehla's 4th Grade Class

The 4th grade class of Room 203 has been working very hard the last few months. Getting ready for the M.E.A.P. was a lot of work. What I need the students to understand is that this is just the start of the year. Yes, the M.E.A.P. is over but now we have a lot of work to do for this coming year. This class is the hardest working class I have ever had in my years of teaching. I am so proud of my students and their effort to excel. We are now going to continue to review basic concepts they have learned to keep them fresh in their minds. We will work every day on new concepts in all areas of the curriculum. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you for the chance to educate your children. These students really work very hard and are so eager to learn. The students will have homework assignments Monday through Thursday. If a child has missed any days of school, then they might have make-up work to do on Friday. Otherwise homework will never be assigned on Friday. Please look at the homework envelope on Monday and keep your child's work, sign the form that states you have seen the work, write any comments you might have for me, and then return the folder on Tuesday. I can't stress enough how important it is for your child to come to school every day. We will be going over new material constantly and review old material to ensure they have learned it. While I can always give your child homework they missed. They still missed the instruction they need to understand the assignment. Please know that we can always use hand sanitizer, Kleenex, pencils, and paper. I want to extend the invitation that you are welcome to come to our class room anytime. Just check in with the office and come on up. Dr. Cain and the rest of the staff at El Shabazz encourage your involvement in your child's education. I want to personally thank the parent's and guardian's that I have already met. If you ever have any questions never hesitate to call the school, send a note, or come on up to Shabazz. If I am not available to talk I will call you back ASAP. Have a great month.

Best Wishes

Mr. Jeff Svehla
