Ms. Jones' 4th Grade Class
Math: We are finishing up our adding and subtracting whole numbers unit. We will begin a new unit on multiplying and dividing whole numbers. Please work with your child on their basic math facts. I have seen flash cards available for purchase at most dollar stores.
Science: We continuing our study of Physical Science, specifically matter, energy, and magnetism. In January, when we return from Christmas Break, the fourth grade is planning a field trip to Impression 5 Science Center in Lansing to further understanding of energy and magnetism.
Reading: This month we are working on Finding the Titanic from our Traditions text book. We will also continue working on our novel study Mouse and the Motorcycle. I am working with our students on the mechanics of writing a book report. Once understanding is made I would like to begin assigning students one book report per month. Further information will be sent home regarding book reports. I encourage you to read with your child every day.
