Mrs. Muriithi's 3rd Grade Class

Jambo Parents, guardians and students:
As of today, Friday June 6, 2010, there are only 5 days of school left before we break for the summer. I am sure we are all looking forward to a great summer break. To all the parents and guardians, I have enjoyed teaching your child, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to do so. To the students, good luck as you prepare for 4th grade; I will miss all of you!

PASSPORT TO AFRICA
We had a great time during our exhibit on Liberia. Students learned so much and enjoyed the steaming hot pepper soup with rice. When you get a chance, ask your child to share with you what he/she learned about Liberia.

END OF SCHOOL YEAR PARTY
On Wednesday, June 9th, we will be celebrating the end of the school year together. Students are welcome to bring snacks to share with others if they wish. Parents are also welcome. This celebration will take place in our classroom from 10:45am-11:45am. Also, students who brought in all their homework for the whole school year will be getting special recognition for their efforts.

FIELD DAY
Field Day for grades 3-6 will be held on Wednesday, June 9th from 1:00-3:00pm. We are still in need of parents to help volunteer for the different activity stations. If you are available to help, please sign the volunteer sheet and turn in it on Monday.

HONORS ASSEMBLY
Our final Honors Assembly will be held on Thursday, June 10th, from 9:30-11:00am.Parents/guardians, please note that this will be a half day. This ceremony will be honoring students for their academic performance, citizenship, and many other areas. Students who have been on the honor roll for all four quarters will get special plaque for their distinguished efforts.

SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM
Our six-week summer school program will begin on Wednesday June 16, 2010. Some students were sent home with letters inviting them to summer school. Parents/guardians please sign the forms and return them with your child by Tuesday, June 8.

MICHIGAN ADVENTURE FIELD TRIP
On the last day of school, some students will participate in a school-wide field trip to Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park. There is a fee of $12 for students and $19 for parents/guardians. For more details about this trip, please refer to the flyer that was sent home with your child.
